Frequently asked questions
What is Isuzu vehicle warranty and what is covered?
Isuzu vehicles carry a 3 year/100,000km (whichever occurs first) manufacturer’s warranty. While the vehicle is under warranty, it must only be serviced by authorized Isuzu Dealers and the warranty book stamped after each service. The warranty covers defects and malfunctions other than normal service or normal wear and tear components like brakes and clutch. There is a rigorous assessment through the principal manufacturer, Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) who may approve or disapprove depending on the provided circumstances. While the process is rigorous, Autoworld strives to do this process expeditiously to limit downtime for the affected customer.
Why do I need to provide a correct chassis number when enquiring for Isuzu spares?
To identify the correct part numbers and parts, a chassis number is essential. Every Isuzu vehicle is unique, hence some parts of a similar model may differ from the next and there could be subtle differences between vehicles manufactured in different years. For example, a 6th Generation Isuzu manufactured in 2012 might be different from a 6th Generation Isuzu manufactured in 2018.
What is the difference between Genuine Parts, Aftermarket Parts, and Pirate/Fake Parts?
- Genuine parts are parts supplied by the Isuzu Factory through its Parts Distribution Centres and channels. These parts will be packaged in branded Isuzu packaging.
- Aftermarket parts are branded parts, manufactured independently, wholesaling into the markets via their own established channels. The parts, while not genuine, are of good quality and manufactured to the exact standards of Isuzu South Africa.
- Pirate/Fake parts are parts manufactured by unauthorized or unrecognized manufacturers. These parts may look similar but may have serious unrecognizable differences that may end up causing damage to your vehicle.
What are vehicle manufacturer first tier and second tier suppliers?
Vehicle manufacturers rely on component manufacturers to supply them with specific parts that are fitted on a vehicle. These component manufacturers are experts in their field. For example, Isuzu may have Bosch as a first-choice supplier for injectors or electrical components, therefore Bosch is classed as a first-tier supplier. Isuzu may also select other manufacturers to supply the same components, such as Denso or Mitsubishi. These second-tier suppliers would be called upon should a first-tier supplier encounter stock challenges. Isuzu issues these suppliers with operating specs and quality standards.
What does vehicle recall mean and why is it important to bring in your vehicle if there is an Isuzu recall?
Isuzu vehicles may be recalled if a defect or malfunction is detected after new vehicles are released into the market. This is not uncommon in the worldwide motor trade so there is no reason to be alarmed. Customers should immediately take heed of these calls and bring their vehicles to their respective Dealerships for attention at no cost to the customer. Because some of the defects could be safety-related, Isuzu clients are urged to immediately seek recourse once a recall has been made.

- Autoworld Zimbabwe provides services to thousands of customers, and we strive to assist and serve every customer diligently to ensure complete satisfaction.
